After a
three-year study, the Township Supervisors formed and approved
by resolution THE LACKAWAXEN FIRE COMMISSION at their June 2009
meeting. The volunteer agency will address the issues of administration,
utilization of assets, fund raising, training and equipment
in the Townships Fire Departments. The Commission consists of
one member from each of the four Fire Departments, Central,
Forest, Greeley and Lackawaxen, one delegate chosen by each
of the four departments who is not involved with Emergency services,
one Township Supervisor, one delegate chosen by the Supervisors
not involved in Emergency services and lastly one delegate chosen
by both the Fire Departments and the Supervisors together for
a total of eleven representatives.
Consistent with its Mission and Vision Statements, the Commission
looks forward to promoting a mutually beneficial relationship
between itself and the respective Fire Departments for the betterment
of all Township residents. Your help in assisting it to achieve
its goals and make Lackawaxen Township the safest it can possibly
be is welcome. Please keep current on the Commission's website,

of the Township are invited to attend. In addition, there are
interactive links on the website for resident input as well
as information on current activities. The Commission will look
