| Forest gets support
for Live-In program - The Forest Volunteer
Fire Department has met with and received support from State Rep Mike
Piefer, Senator Lisa Baker, the Pike County Commissioners, Lackawaxen
Township Supervisors, Lackawaxen Township Fire Commission, as well
as Lackawanna College and Woodloch Pines. The Live-In program will
create a situation where Forest will offer free housing to college
students and firefighting professionals where in return they will
also become volunteers for the fire department. The end result will
be added coverage and reduced response times. This program will be
a huge addition for the community and will create a "Paid Firefighters"
situation for free. The program already operates successfully in many
other states and as close as Lancaster County. |
